THE END OF WARS - CHAPTER - 4
4.
Where must be Elias now? My closest friend in the Indian army. After the retirement, he settled in Hyderabad, the land of his wife. The final news I heard about him came a year and a half ago. The news was a sad one. He had fallen ill with lung cancer. It was a phone-call from his daughter Celina, a scientist, whom I knew from her childhood. But, now it re-emerges, haunting! The wounded eyes of his wife and children! They went away homeless. To where? I don’t know. Neither did I enquire too…
That was just one of many court cases I had fought and won. By the time I had won the cases, I had forgotten the plan of visiting Elias along with many other precious things in life!
Many many faces emerge in my mind when I close my eyes…many many haunting faces!
